You have heard the names of a wide variety of embroidery stitches used in cross-stitch. Here you can learn from a description and a graphical display how to achieve these stitches.

Three-Quarter Cross Stitch

123

To create a three-quarter stitch, start with the half cross stitch by coming from the back at 1 and down into the fabric at 2. Then exit at 3 to begin the quarter stitch and down into the fabric at 4 being careful not to catch the thread of the diagonal half cross-stitch.

Quarter and three quarter cross-stitches are used to obtain rounded shapes in a design. Three quarter stitches combine a quarter stitch with a half cross-stitch. Three-quarter stitches may slant in any direction.
